The demolition, recycling and re-development of the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in Irvine, California is a sustainability partnership between The Orange County Great Park, the City of Irvine and the developer Heritage Fields.

Recycled Materials Company of California, Inc. (RMC-CA) was chosen by the City of Irvine as the most experienced contractor to perform demolition and recycling of runway, taxiway, concourse maintenance and loading facilities at El Toro which will total 3.5 million tons of Portland Cement Concrete (PCC), asphalt and other recyclable rubble.

RMC-CA was previously on-site at El Toro and performed the demolition of 2 million square feet of concrete, performed asphalt recycling and had begun 1st phase removals on-site. Currently, this project has been furloughed by the developer. RMC-CA has vacated the El Toro site and we are awaiting a re-start of this project.
